A thirty-two-year old galah Fred, was purchased as a chick by his owners. The couple had a growing family and Fred started to bite the children out of jealousy.
Fred was placed in a small aviary out the back. The owners called us as they wanted a better life for their bird as they felt he needed more. They were ageing and were unsure of how long they would be able to look after him.
After months of searching for a good home, Fred now has a home where he can pick at the grass and roam where he likes to in the back yard during the day and come into his aviary to sleep during the night. We are currently looking for a female galah for Fred. |

Betsy, a 14-year-old sulfur crested cockatoo, lived with a family in Ryde. Betsy was well looked after but required a companion. The owners contacted us, as they wanted to find a better home for their adopted cocky.
After a few weeks we were able to relocate Betsy to a large flight avery at Dural. Betsy now is able to fly free in an aviary, and the best thing is she also has a new mate Charlie. Charlie is also a sulfur-crested cockatoo. Charlie's owners are very grateful to have Betsy and the best part is that Charlie has stopped squawking in the middle of the night. They now sleep together in the aviary. |
