Adopt a bird

If you want to adopt a bird, Let the Birds Fly Free (LTBFF) is the place to find one. We have a large range of single and coupled birds looking for good homes. All LTBFF birds have been surrendered to us. All birds have been checked over by a vet. LTBFF match the bird's requirements with what the new owner wants.

Firstly a member of LTBFF will come to you home and find out what type of bird you would like and exchange general bird information such as where it will be living, whether you have other birds, how much time you are able to spend with the bird, whether other members of the house hold are happy to have a new bird. Each bird's requirements are different, depending on their personality and their past. These are always taken into consideration.

Your name will then go onto our database, until an appropriate bird is found. When a match is found, the bird is brought to your home and we assess how the bird interacts with you and with any existing birds if applicable. This process could be repeated over a number of days to ensure the bird and your existing family feels secure.

If all parties involved are happy, an adoption letter is signed and a donation is requested. If at any time you are not happy with your new bird, a member from LTBFF will pick up the bird as soon as possible. We are always available to provide guidance, as we are aware this is a new experience for you both. LTBFF will follow up with phone calls throughout the year to ensure you and your new family member/s are doing ok. We will also do an arranged routine check on the bird twice a year.

Princess Parrot

Lovely, gentle and possibly older bird who needs a home where she can fly through the day. She is happy to fly in our family/kitchen room and takes herself home through the cage roof when she's had enough. Enjoys a call in the morning, and sometimes in the evening, but otherwise just wants to be around the family. Very gentle, doesn't like to be handled, will occasionally sit on your shoulder, and allows you to place your hands in the cage and feed her etc. Has never bitten. Might suit a quieter home with no small children. Very beautiful bird. This bird has been fostered with us now for 3 months and really does need a caring home.
